There are places that invite you to gather, to feast, to dance, to linger a little longer.
Here, the estate’s welcoming spirit draws people together for memorable celebrations in a setting of remarkable beauty. A house, gardens, and rolling landscape designed for entertaining. Birthdays that bloom into weekends, anniversaries that fill every room with warm laughter, and reunions that stretch into the night. Every gathering here is designed to feel effortless, generous, and entirely your own.

Penicuik House
At the heart of the estate, Penicuik House is the welcoming centrepiece of every celebration, from intimate dinners to milestone weekends that bring generations together. With sixteen bedrooms, it gathers everyone under one gracious roof: a place to rest, dine, and celebrate in elegant, light-filled rooms surrounded by history. Light-filled rooms set the perfect tone for drinks, dinners, or dancing, while outside, the Courtyard and Rose Garden open directly onto the landscape for gatherings beneath the open sky.
Whether marking a 40th birthday, a golden anniversary, or a family reunion, Penicuik House feels deeply personal, elegant, welcoming, and lovingly made for being together.
The Orangery
Nestled within the Sunken Garden beside Penicuik House, The Orangery is designed for larger celebrations. A contemporary space of glass, greenery, and gentle light, it’s the perfect backdrop for milestone events and dinners of scale.
By day it’s open and bright; by night it glows softly against the trees, alive with music and flickering candlelight. It can host up to 150 guests for dinner and dancing or 200 for dinner alone, with every event flowing gracefully between the house, the garden, and the stars above.

The High Pond
A few minutes’ peaceful walk from Penicuik House, the High Pond feels a world away. A secluded stretch of water framed by ancient woodland and the gentle rise of the Pentland Hills. Parties unfold beside the tranquil water, where reflections shimmer, fire torches flicker warmly, and music drifts through the trees. In partnership with the finest marquee suppliers, we help you shape the perfect setting, from sailcloth tents opening onto the landscape to glass structures that glow softly at dusk.
It’s a place defined by its natural theatre: reflections on the water, music drifting through the trees, and celebrations that feel both expansive and joyful.
Old Penicuik House
For something truly unforgettable, the lovingly restored ruins of Old Penicuik House offer a setting like no other, romantic, expressive, and alive with possibility. Picture glass marquees nestled within the ancient stone walls, transforming the space into a magical stage for dinners or parties.
Here, ancient walls hold echoes of laughter and music, while hidden bars and midnight feasts appear as if from nowhere. It’s a historic canvas where imagination meets freedom, for a celebration treasured for years to come.

The estate kitchen
Food is the heartbeat of every gathering. In collaboration with The Edinburgh Catering Company, our Estate Kitchen brings theatre and generous abundance to every meal, cooking with instinct, imagination, and the finest of Scotland’s produce.
Mornings begin slowly, with coffee in the sunny courtyard and à la carte breakfasts. Midday brings sharing lunches in the warmth, oysters on ice, creamy burrata with garden herbs, and grilled vegetables.
As evening draws in, the air fills with woodsmoke as côte de boeuf is carved on wooden boards and hand-dived scallops sizzle in their shells. Dinners become an event, always abundant, lively, and unhurried. When the sun returns, it’s all about recovery brunches, think lobster mac & cheese and perhaps a cheeky Margarita to start an impromptu after-party. Every menu is lovingly crafted to match the moment.
