Penicuik House
At the heart of the estate, Penicuik House is a place for laughter, conversation, and celebration. The house is yours to treat as your own.
Within the house, ceremonies, dining and dancing can be hosted for up to 48 guests, offering an intimate and atmospheric setting throughout the day. When combined with The Orangery, the space lends itself to drinks receptions for up to 100 guests, with a series of rooms at courtyard level connecting and opening outwards, allowing the celebration to move naturally between indoors and out.
The Courtyard and Rose Garden offer natural extensions of the house, well suited to open-air gatherings, drinks receptions and ceremonies, each providing a distinct setting within the estate grounds.
The Orangery
Flooded with natural light, The Orangery is a truly special setting. Its soaring ceiling and views across the lawns create a feeling of being immersed in the landscape.
It’s a wonderful space for elegant wedding breakfasts, sophisticated drinks receptions, or even private yoga sessions. For a seated dinner, it can welcome up to 200 guests, or 150 for dinner with a dance floor, transforming into a magical, candlelit setting as evening falls.
The High Pond
For those drawn to the estate’s wilder side, High Pond offers the ultimate in romantic natural settings. Tucked away in a quiet corner, this secluded spot by the water is perfect for outdoor wedding ceremonies, relaxed picnics, and fire-pit gatherings. Imagine exchanging vows with the quiet ripple of the pond behind you or sharing stories with friends as the sun sets over the water.
The surrounding meadow has ample space for beautiful sailcloth marquees for up to 250 guests.
Old Penicuik House
Steeped in history, the atmospheric ruins of the Old House provide a dramatic and unforgettable backdrop. The roofless stone shell, with its grand archways and open-air grandeur, is a breathtaking space for unique wedding ceremonies or theatrical dinners for up to 150 guests.
