Penicuik Estate is 10 miles south of Edinburgh and is home to one of Scotland’s finest designed landscapes.

With plenty to see and do on foot and by bike, immerse yourself in nature, explore the 20km of trails and be inspired by original examples of Palladian architecture.

We look forward to seeing you very soon.

Penicuik Estate is open all year round. If we have to close specific areas of the estate due to safety reasons, we will update this on our social media channels.

Old Penicuik House is open from 8am until 4pm Monday – Friday. Weekend opening hours will be reduced and/or by appointment. All times are subject to weather conditions. If you are making a special trip to visit Old Penicuik House please call us in advance to check opening times.

With prior arrangement the main gates can be opened to enable vehicles to drop-off and pick-up visitors in front of Old Penicuik House.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Please be mindful this is a working estate with livestock and wildlife, so dogs should be kept on a lead at all times.

You are welcome to take horses on suitable trails throughout the estate.
